Exceptional Quality.

Over the years, the technology to grow diamonds has advanced considerably, and so has the amount of control we have in our laboratory. Through research and thousands of experiments on lab-grown diamonds, the process has been refined for greater sizes, better clarity, and brighter colors. Each human hair is different, and so is each diamond we make. As a result, we can’t predict the final 4 Cs of our lab-grown diamonds, but we’re confident in our exceptional quality.

Greater Sizes

Compared to mined natural diamonds, we are able to grow bigger diamonds at the same production cost. When it comes to larger and/or colored diamonds, you can get stones 2-3 times the size at the same price.

(text: as short as possible, one sentence is best)

Better Clarity

90% of our lab-grown diamonds’ clarity is between FL (Flawless) and VS2 (Very Slightly Included). All clarity grades above VS2 mean inclusions are not visible to the naked eye and are even difficult to detect under a 10x gemscope.

Brighter Colors

90% of our Berry Fancy™ lab-grown diamonds enjoy a fancy intense or fancy vivid color. Naturally colored diamonds can be dull or dark, but ours are consistently made beautiful due to our technological advantage.

Berry Fancy™ lab-grown pink diamonds can be laser inscribed with your name or any meaningful and loving words of your choice.

On July 24, 2018, the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) deems: “Technological advances have made it possible to create diamonds in a laboratory. These stones have essentially the same optical, physical, and chemical properties as mined diamonds. Thus, they are diamonds.”

About Color Grading

For lab-grown colored diamonds, the aspect of color far outweighs the other “C’s” (clarity, cut, and carat weight) in the determination of beauty and attractiveness. Colored diamonds are color graded in the face-up position only, with a fancy grade (e.g., Fancy Light, Fancy Intense) representing the combined effect of tone and saturation on the color of a lab-grown diamond. These grades correspond to regions of tone and saturation in color space; they are also hue-dependent since different colors reach their highest saturation at different levels.

  • Our leading technology made it possible that we can create lab-grown diamonds in brilliant colors that are extremely rare and valuable when found in nature. The exact color grade is usually technically defined as between fancy light and fancy dark. These diamonds in fancy colors are formulated to offer a beautiful saturation of color varying from Faint to Fancy Deep. The exact color will be subject to the variations incidental to the creation process.

  • Yes. The process is totally customized. No matter it's a lighter yellow or darker blue, let us know by sending us a photo of the exact diamond color you want it to look like. Our scientists will try our best to achieve the color shades for you.

  • All colors offered by BerryFancy share the same carat-based pricing scheme. All colors are priced the same.

In natural mined diamonds, colored diamonds are extremely rare, being less than 0.1% of the number of mined diamonds. As a result, colored diamonds are much more expensive than colorless diamonds. Among many colors like yellow and blue, diamonds in red are the rarest and thus the most expensive ones.

  • Yes, we do make colorless diamonds. BerryFancy is our brand specialized in fancy colored diamonds only. If you need colorless diamonds, please take a look at the other brand by Sunny Eden Inc, the … at ….com.

About Carat Weight

Carat is the unit of measurement for the physical weight of diamonds. One carat equals 0.200 grams or 1/5 gram and is subdivided into 100 points. Carat indicates the weight of the diamond, not the size. This means that the carat weight may vary depending on the shape of the diamond. It also takes a good combination of quality cut, clarity and color, so that a lab-grown diamond could stand out and shine with its brilliance and sparkle.

  • At Berry Fancy, prices for our lab-grown colored diamonds start at $1000 for 0.5 carats. You can get a one-carat round brilliant cut yellow or blue diamond for $2,500. The prices of our diamonds only depend on the carat weight.
In natural diamond pricing, when larger weights are combined with high-quality cuts, color, and clarity, the price increases exponentially because it increases the rarity of the diamond. In our lab, however, because every diamond is custom-made to the same standards, this means we can price in a simple and straightforward way — based on carat weight only.

  • We offer four different carat options:

    • 0.5 ct

    • 1.0 ct

    • 1.5 ct

    • 2.0 ct

If you would like to customize another carat size, such as 0.8 ct, please contact us for a quote.
The size above is only a minimum guarantee of the carat weight. What you actually get may be slightly larger (usually up to 0.25 ct more).

  • No, they only indicate a minimum guarantee. Like a berry grown on a farm, every diamond comes in a slightly different size. We sort our diamonds into different size ranges just like a farm sort its berries. What you actually get may be slightly larger (usually up to 0.25 ct bigger).

  • Generally speaking, the range of 1.0 to 1.9 carats is by far the most popular. A bigger stone doesn't guarantee a better-looking ring, though; it also depends on the style of the ring (e.g. solitaire, halo, or double halo) and your finger length and thickness.

About Diamond Cut

The cut of a diamond determines its brilliance, the degree to which its setting surface interacts with light and sparkle. Cut does not refer to the shape of the diamond, but rather to the degree of perfection with which the diamond has been cut into its shape. The better the symmetry, proportions, and polish of a diamond, the higher its cut grade.

  • 90% Berry Fancy lab-grown diamond has been measured as between “Excellent” and “Good”, offering exceptional brilliance and fire. Furthermore, our advanced technology and know-how in the production process allow that we grow our stones to be the optimal size and shape for cutting, maximizing the sparkle each diamond customized for you.

  • No, the price only depends on the carat weight. For the same price you pay, you may get up to an ‘excellent’ cut in your diamonds. Since every diamond is custom-made to the same standards, this means we can price in a simple and straightforward way — only based on carat weight.

  • No. Diamond ‘Shape’ is different from diamond ‘Cut’.

Diamond ‘Cut’ assesses how light interacts with a diamond, a higher cut grade is based on a combination of the diamond’s proportions, symmetry, and polish.

Diamond ’Shape’ is related to the outline or style of a diamond. Our lab-grown diamonds are available in more than 9 different shapes, including cushion, princess, heart, and more.

  • ‘Fire’ is the colored flash of light visible in the stone, which is broken down into different colors such as yellow or blue when the light enters the diamond.

‘Brilliance’ is the light emitted by the stone in the original color of the stone and the light source.

‘Scintillation’ is the sparkle and intensity of light emitted by a diamond as it moves.

About Diamond Clarity

The clarity for a lab-grown diamond is an assessment of the tiny internal defects within the diamond at a magnification of 10x. These flaws are called inclusions. Inclusions impede a diamond's ability to refract and reflect light, so the poorer clarity a diamond has, the less it will sparkle.

  • 90% of Berry Fancy lab-grown diamond has been measured as between VS and VVS. This means the diamond has only minor inclusions that cannot be seen by the naked eye, and are difficult to see at 10x magnification.
When buying a fancy colored diamond, the diamond's color and intensity are much more important than the diamond's clarity. Diamond clarity does not play as much of an important role in fancy colored diamonds as it does in colorless diamonds.

  • No, the price only depends on the carat weight. For the same price you pay, you may get up to VVS1, or FL clarity for your diamonds. Since every diamond is custom-made to the same standards, this means we can price in a simple and straightforward way — only based on carat weight.

  • The modern diamond clarity grading scale ranges from I to FL, with FL as the highest clarity grading.

    • I1, I2, I3 - Included (I)

    • SI2, SI1 - Slightly Included (SI)

    • VS1, VS2 - Very Slightly Included (VS)

    • VVS1, VVS2 - Very Very Slightly Included (VVS)

    • Internally Flawless (IF)

    • Flawless (FL) Diamonds.

  • When buying a fancy colored diamond, the diamond's color and intensity are much more important than the diamond's clarity. Diamond clarity does not play as much of an important role in fancy colored diamonds as it does in colorless diamonds.
In colorless diamonds under 1 carat, clarity should be considered the least important of the traditional 4 Cs. In colorless diamonds between 1 and 2 carats, clarity grades of SI1 or better will not have inclusions easily visible to the naked eye. For colorless diamonds over 2 carats, a clarity grade of VS2 or higher is the safest bet for avoiding any signs of visible inclusions.

Facts about diamonds.

Carbon (C):

The atoms from your hair, your cells, and your unique DNA

Carbon is the element of life. The human body is 18.5% carbon. A diamond is pure, crystallized carbon. Human hair is somewhere in between, with 45% carbon, 28% oxygen, 15% nitrogen, 6.7% hydrogen and 5.3% sulfur, among many other trace elements. These trace elements can have an impact on health and represent the individuality of each of us.

Lab-Grown Diamonds and the 5Cs

The 5Cs originally stand for: Cut, Color, Clarity, Carat and Certificate.

Cut: The cut of a diamond predicts its brilliance factor. The better the cut of a diamond is, the more the light is reflected.

Color: Diamonds are most commonly found “colorless” with sometimes a slight tint of yellow. The grading system for colorless diamonds ranges from D (the most rare) to Z (the most common).

Clarity: The clarity grading analysis of a lab-grown diamond helps point out any inclusions that may affect the appearance of a diamond.

Carat: Not to be confused with the measure of a gem’s size, the carat is the measurement for your lab-grown diamond’s weight.

Certificate: A lab-grown diamond certificate is the total grading report to help confirm the characteristics of a diamond.

Lab-Grown Diamonds for A More Sustainable Future

The demand for ethically sourced diamonds is on the rise as more consumers worries about sustainability and the environment. Ethically sourced diamonds are diamonds with fair humanitarian practices for workers’ conditions and wages when sourcing gemstones, and where the mining and the origin of the diamonds are not compromised.

Lab-grown diamonds are considered ethically-safe as they are produced in scientific laboratories by experts and have far less impact on the environment, are also perfectly traceable and therefore belong to the conflict-free diamonds category.
